Special Report:   Chinese navy 60th anniversary

The Mexican Navy sailing ship -- the A-R-M Cuauhtemoc -- has arrived at the port city of Qingdao in east China's Shandong Province.

It's the first visiting ship to arrive for celebrations for the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Liberation Army Navy.

Another 20 foreign naval vessels from 14 countries are also expected. A series of multi-national naval activities will be held from Monday to Thursday in Qingdao.

One of the highlights will be an international fleet review on Thursday. The PLA Navy was founded on April 23, 1949 with nine warships and 17 boats.
