China's tourist board says Chinese tourists in Thailand were not affected by the protests in Pattaya over the weekend. But the government is advising citizens to postpone all trips to Thailand because of the riots in Bangkok.

As soon as a state of emergency was declared in the popular tourism destination of Pattaya, travel agencies took moves to ensure the safety of their customers in Thailand.

Huang Yugang, mamager of Guangdong Nanhu Travel Agency, said, "We have been in touch with our tour guides in Thailand. They said that our tourist groups are not affected by the situation. Today, we got the news that the red-shirts withdrew. So the situation will be stable, and our schedules are not changed."

Despite government warnings, the agency said it's not stopping the sales of packages to Thailand. And none of its registered customers have asked to cancel their trips. And while some worry the airports might be closed again, others have no such fears.
