Vice president meets with U.S. Treasury Secretary

Vice Premier Wang Qishan is upbeat about China and the US's decision to set up a Strategic and Economic Dialogue. During his meeting with US Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner in London, Wang Qishan called it a significant move to promote the bilateral relationship in a new era.

Chinese President Hu Jintao and US President Barack Obama decided to establish the Dialogue at their meeting in London ahead of the G-20 summit. Wang and Geither are special representatives for the Dialogue.

Wang says China is willing to work with the US and other countries to increase communications as well as cooperation to implement the deals reached at the London Summit.

Geithner says the US also wants to maintain close dialogue and cooperation with China.
