China has reiterated its opposition to trade protectionism, urging the summit to promote balanced progress of the Doha talks and give more trade support to developing countries.

Among Russia's proposals to the London summit, is a call for an expansion of the currencies used as reserve currencies.

Brazil, India and many other developing countries have also pressed for reform of international financial institutions, appealing for more help for developing countries.
