Security tight in London ahead of G20

Mounted police are patrolling London's financial district, as the city braces for mass actions in the run up to the G-20 summit on Thursday. But residents living close to the summit venue are skeptical the event can achieve much. Some of them say the gathering is nothing but an inconvenience and a waste of money.

Thousands of police officers are taking part in a massive security operation this week when world leaders arrive for Thursday's G20 summit.

Some of the windows of shops and offices near the Bank of England were boarded up, in anticipation of any violence during a protest scheduled for Wednesday.
