President Hu Jintao toured an exhibition in Beijing marking the 50th anniversary of democratic reform in Tibet.

He said the reform was the most extensive, profound and progressive social transformation in the history of Tibet.

The exhibition showcases cultural relics, photos, videos and restored landscapes that record the great changes Tibet has gone through since 1959, when serfdom was abolished.

The show has attracted about 137-thousand visitors since it opened late February. All nine members of the Politbureau Standing Committee the CPC Central Committee have visited the exhibition.
