30th anniversary of Israel-Egypt peace treaty marked

Egypt, Israel and the United States have marked 30 years of peace between Israel and Egypt. But they also recognize that the full promise of the Camp David breakthrough is yet to be fulfilled.

Both Israel and Egypt said on Wednesday that they have a duty to maintain stable relations. They also agreed that achieving lasting peace demands further work.

Yasser Reda, Egyptian Ambassador to Israel said "A just and comprehensive resolution of the Palestinian questions should be realized through creating a viable and independent state living in peace with Israel."

Tzipi Livni, Israeli foreign Minister said "There is still a lot to be explored and accomplished in our relations. Above all the desire of the Israeli public to witness the opening up of the great Egyptian people toward us."
