Tibet gets ready for big celebration

The performers consist of professional artists, students, and volunteers who wish to be part of the historic celebration. Suo Lang Yang Zhen is one such volunteer.

Tibet is getting ready for a region-wide celebration to  mark Serf Emancipation Day this Saturday.

Suolang Yangzhen, gala performer, said, "My life has become totally different. I came from a very poor family in old Tibet, but I’m now a party cadre. I still remember the suffering, and that's why I cherish my life now. My own experience has been shared by many other Tibetans. We are thankful that our lives today would have been the privilege of aristocrats in old Tibet."
