Premier Wen calls for industrial development

Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao has called on the country's enterprises and officials to prioritize industrial upgrades and innovation, urging them to move "early rather than late" to ride through the global financial crisis.

During his 3-day visit to 13 enterprises in northeastern Liaoning Province, Premier Wen Jiabao said Chinese companies should focus on adjusting their product structure, improving quality and upgrading technology. He also encouraged enterprises to "have a dauntless spirit" in the face of difficulties.

Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao said, "As the Chinese government, our responsibility is to provide all that we can to create opportunities for the enterprises, as well as their people. Apart from this, we have no limitation or restriction on the policies. So just do it!"
