First press conference of new NPC session

Spokesman of the new NPC session Li Zhaoxing said this year's NPC session is scheduled to begin on the morning of March 5th and close on the afternoon of March 9th. The duration is 8 days and a half, shorter than usual.

He said topping the agenda of this year's meeting is to deliberate a number of key administrative, fiscal and judicial reports. They include Premier Wen Jiabao's report on the government work, the draft plan of China's national economy and social progress in 2009, the central and local governments' budget plan for 2009, the NPC Standing Committee's work report, and the work reports of the Supreme People's Court and the Supreme People's Procuratorate.
