Political advisors call for efforts to help migrant workers find jobs

Henan is one of the country's biggest labor exporting provinces. About 20 million migrant workers are now working all across the country. So far, a tenth have lost their jobs. The provincial government is taking concrete measures.

Guo Qun is an Industry and Commerce official. He says Henan is now waiving the business registration fee for migrant workers.

But he agrees that finding jobs is more important than reducing costs.

Chinese migrant workers are among those most adversely affected by the global financial crisis. As many as 20 million of them have already lost their jobs. One of the primary focuses of this year's annual political meeting will be to boost the economy and reduce unemployment.
