February the 25th, 2009, is the first day of the Tibetan New Year. The Tibetan people have many ways of expressing their New Year wishes and resolutions.

Gesang Yanggim, a Lhasa resident, said, " A new year has come. I wish my parents good health. I want to give my special blessings to my mum, I hope she will be happier and have more smiles in the New Year."
