WATCH VIDEO
Hillary Clinton, US Secretary of State said "I appreciate greatly the Chinese government's continuing confidence in the United States treasuries. I think that's a well-grounded confidence. We have every reason to believe that the United States and China will recover, and together we will help to lead the global recovery."
Yang Jiechi said China will conduct dialogue on human rights issues with the US, on the basis of mutual respect and non-interference in each other's internal affairs.
The two sides agreed to continue their talks when Yang Jiechi visits the US on March ninth.
Both China and the US are eager to advance their ties. Specifically they feel the urgent need to work together to reduce the global economic difficulties and tackle climate change. The positive attitude will pave the way for discussions on differences. Interest is high in the specific outcomes that will affect the Chinese and American people and the world.
