Trade Unions call for promoting jobs

The All-China Federation of Trade Unions says protecting and creating jobs must be the top priority for trade unions around the world. This was a key message at an international forum in Beijing on Thursday.

More than 50 Chinese and foreign trade union leaders are at the forum, seeking ways to help find jobs in this worsening global financial crisis.

Feeling the pain of the financial crisis.

Many people have lost their jobs, and some have gone to extreme lengths to express their anger.

The forum in Beijing is discussing the measures to create job opportunities and how trade unions can protect workers' rights.

Wang Zhaoguo, chairman of All-China Federation of Trade Unions, said, "Under the current financial crisis, trade unions from all over the world should make protecting workers rights of employment their top priority, and try every possible means to reduce unemployment, while helping them secure and find jobs. "
