Hebron is the largest city and one of the most volatile areas in the West Bank.

Clashes also erupted between Palestinians and Israeli police in the West Bank villages of Nilin and Bilin.

The clashes occurred after a weekly protest against the separation barrier, under construction nearby.

Palestinians say the barrier, which cuts deep into the West Bank, is an Israeli land grab. Israel says the barrier is crucial to ensuring the country's security.
