Ban Ki-moon, UN Secretary-General, said, "I am going to dispatch early this week a humanitarian needs assessment team to Gaza, organized and led by the United Nations and together with World Bank and other donor organizations. Within 10 days I think we will be able to make an assessment report."
Britain says in addition to increasing its aid money, it will help transport the injured to hospitals, rebuild Gaza's shattered buildings, and clear away unexploded bombs.
The summit participants also pressed for an end to the smuggling of weapons into Gaza. Several countries are offering military assistance to stop such smuggling, which is one of Israel's main demands.
But Egypt has rejected any deployment of international forces on its side of the Gaza border.
