Sunday was the 8th day of the Spring Festival travel peak here in China, with the number of journeys hitting record highs once again. The country's rail, airline, and road sectors are working around the clock to manage the passenger surge.

China's rail, airline, and road sectors are working around the clock to manage the passenger surge.
Since the travel peak period officially began on January
11th, over 28 million journeys have been made by rail.

5.1 million train journeys were made across China on Saturday alone, on the last weekend before the start of Spring Festival. Students, migrant workers, and people visiting their families are all traveling at the same time.

Since the travel peak period officially began on January 11th, over 28 million journeys have been made by rail. To meet the needs of so many passengers, railway departments are making the best use of resources improving even minor aspects of services, like selling tickets.

Wang Yong, Deputy Chief of Beijing Railway Station, said, "Beijing Railway Bureau has adopted new measures for the convenience of passengers. Students are able to buy tickets from student windows at any time."
