Speaking to reporters on Friday, doctors displayed what they say is shrapnel from white phosphorus bombs.
Mohammad Al Guniem, Shifa Hospital, Egyptian Doctor, said, "I've noticed an unprecedented massacre and we strongly believe that non conventional weapons have been utilized. There is abundant evidence that white phosphorous had been used in addition to the so-called dime bomb."
White phosphorus ignites when it strikes the skin. It also burns straight through, until it is cut off from oxygen.
The chemical is suspected in the cases of 10 burn victims who had skin peeling off their faces and bodies.
The Israeli military has not confirmed reports that it has improperly used the bombs. It only says the military uses munitions in accordance with international law.
