Chen Yujing from Eastern Airlines said, "As the spring festival falls earlier than usual, the travel peak comes early for airline sector. We suggest passengers arrive early at airports so they will not miss their flights."

Though the spring festival travel peak will only last for 40 days, over 2.3 billion journeys will be made during the period. It was a sad and a memorable picture that snow storms trapped many travellers on their way home in 2008. The central government will invest 2 trillion yuan into the railway sector to improve services for customers by 2010.
