US Vice President-elect visits Afghanistan

US Vice President-elect Joe Biden is in Kabul for meetings with Afghanistan's president and the General leading NATO troops in the country. Shortly after his arrival, Biden held talks with President Hamid Karzai. Biden also met US General David McKiernan, the head of the NATO-led forces in Afghanistan. McKiernan warned that the thousands of new US troops due in the war-torn country will need more helicopters and other support to beat back surging Taliban violence. Analysts say Biden's visit is a clear signal that the new Obama administration will make the region a top priority.
