Sun Bigan, China's special envoy to the Middle East has voiced deep concern over the ongoing turbulence in the region. He expressed regret over the civilian casualties and condemned the violence. Sun also put forward three proposals to deal with the crisis.

Sun Bigan, China's special envoy to the Middle East, said, "An immediate ceasefire is urgent, then the humanitarian crisis can be alleviated. Israel should halt its military actions in Gaza and Hamas should stop firing rockets at Israel. "

He has suggested all sides find ways to achieve a durable ceasefire and a supervisory mechanism in order to create a sustainable, stable situation.

Sun Bigan said, "The basic principle in dealing with the problem is to stabilize the situation, then stop the war. The crisis will be completely solved when the two sides return to political negotiation."

China has offered one million U.S. dollars in emergency humanitarian aid to the Palestinian National Authority. And it will continue to provide humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people according to its ability.
