President Hu Jintao has called on Chinese soldiers to adopt core military values during a meeting with senior military leaders. These values include loyalty to the country and its people, devotion to career, and upholding military honor.

President Hu Jintao has called on Chinese soldiers to adopt  core military values during a meeting with senior military  leaders.

Hu Jintao, who is also Chairman of the Central Military Commission, said these values should serve as a strong spiritual force for the soldiers to achieve comprehensive development，and should guide them through their duties. He said soldiers should safeguard the country's sovereignty, and contribute to harmonious and socialist modernization.

The President also called on soldiers to serve the people wholeheartedly, and make the people's interests their top priority.
