Next year, the relief supply reserve will be able to endure two serious natural disasters and meet the demand of one million people. Water purifiers, lighting equipment and other materials for daily needs will be put onto the reserve list. And priority will given to regions in central and western China where transportation conditions are more difficult. Meanwhile, authorities in charge of grain supplies promise to ensure an adequate supply and stable grain prices in quake-hit areas. The Ministry of Civil Affairs says the next step for rebuilding in quake-hit Sichuan Province is to ensure enough funds for farmers to rebuild their homes.

Zou Ming, from the Ministry of Civil Affairs, DIR.Disaster & Social Relief Dept., said,"There's still difficulty in funds for farmers, especially those people in poverty. The 20 thousand yuan given by the government is not enough to build themselves permanent homes. And they are not able to get loans from banks. That's why the government will pay more attention to farmers' home rebuilding. "
