As the cold front heads south, quake-hit Sichuan Province has seen temperatures drop by 12 degrees Celsius, with snow falling in some areas. The local government says winter supplies to help people get through the cold months ahead have reached all quake-affected areas.

The Sichuan government arranged funds before the winter to purchase winter materials including quilts, padded clothing, and heating devices.

According to Sichuan's Civil Affairs Department, the materials, along with relief materials donated from other provinces, have been distributed to survivors who need assistance.
