3 Chinese navy vessels to fight pirates

China confirmed on Saturday that it will send navy vessels to fight pirates off the coast of Somalia. The task force consists of two destroyers and one supply ship.

The vessels will leave next Friday for the Gulf of Aden and Somalian waters to safeguard sea lanes. Their main task is to protect the safety of Chinese ships as well as ships carrying humanitarian aid for the international organizations.

The Defense Ministry said Chinese naval vessels will strictly follow the UN Security Council's resolutions and laws. More Detail>>
