For many Chinese couples, a photo studio wedding picture is a must when they get married. However, today's wedding photos are quite different from those of 30 years ago.

Zhao Zengqiang is a photographer in Beijing's Dabei, one of China's oldest photo studios. He has worked here for 33 years. Taking wedding photos for couples is his main job.

30 years may be difficult to fully remember. Photos will help revive the memory.

Zhao Zengqiang, photographer of Dabei Photo Studio, said, "This photo represents 1970's. The color was dyed manually, people wear simple cloth and look stiff."

The couple in the photo, Dong Xiufen and Bai Fucheng, got married in 1978. Both are retired and now nearly 60 years old. They say the old photo may look a little bit funny today, but it was quite a good thing in the 70's.

Wife Dong Xiufen said, "Not every couple could afford to take a photo like this at that time. The original photo is black-and-white, I paid additional money to enlarge and dye it."

Zhao said the technology was backward in 1970's. People knew little about the outside world. In 80's, after the country opened up, imported Japanese cameras became popular and couples began to wear wedding clothes to make them more like brides and grooms.
