Special Report:   Terror attacks in Mumbai

CANBERRA, Nov. 28 (Xinhua) -- At least another Australian is thought to have been killed in the violence in India, Australian Foreign Minister Stephen Smith said on Friday.

He said eyewitness accounts suggested another Australian was killed at the Oberoi Hotel in Mumbai, but officials were still awaiting confirmation.

"We've got information effectively from eyewitnesses which puts another Australian life we think at very grave risk," Smith told ABC Radio.

"We are not in a position to confirm, we may not be in a position to confirm it until hostilities cease completely around, in and around, the Oberoi Hotel," he said.

Smith said earlier that up to 26 Australians are believed to be trapped in Mumbai's Taj Mahal and Oberoi/Trident hotels, which were attacked by armed Islamic militants late on Wednesday night Indian time.

About 2,000 Australians are believed to be in India, around 300of whom are in Mumbai.
