Israel closes Gaza crossings

Israel has closed its commercial border crossings with the Gaza Strip again following rocket fire that was aimed at Israel on Monday evening.

A police spokesman said the rocket landed inside the Strip, and had failed to cross the border.

On Monday morning, Israel opened its border with Gaza to allow fuel and humanitarian supplies to cross for the first time in weeks.

Thirty trucks of food and medicine were allowed to pass at the Kerem Shalom crossing. Diesel fuel for Gaza's power plant was also allowed in.

Israel's closure of the crossings prompted the United Nations to warn of a looming humanitarian crisis.
