This is the sixth time Premier Wen Jiabao has traveled to the quake zone.

The Premier stressed that reconstruction work is integral to the central government's efforts to expand domestic demand and promote economic development.

Wen Jiabao also expressed concern about residents being able to pass through the winter safely. He inspected housing conditions, and told villagers that the government will offer them more help to rebuild their homes as soon as possible, hopefully within two years. He also pressed for the quick reconstruction of public facilities, such as schools and hospitals.

He said relief materials should be distributed to every corner of the quake zone, ensuring that everyone will have enough supplies to get through winter.

During his tour, Premier Wen visited the site of the new Beichuan county, one of the worst-hit areas. He asked designers and technicians to ensure good planning and quality of workmanship. The new Beichuan county should be finished within three years.

Premier Wen Jiabao also revisited the temporary classrooms of Beichuan Middle School, which was totally destroyed by the quake. The Premier encouraged the students and teachers who survived to remain optimistic in their efforts to rebuild their school as well as in their lives.
