The United States and some of its allies accuse Iran of seeking to build nuclear weapons, a claim Tehran has long denied.

Iran insists it has the right under the Nuclear Non-proliferation Treaty to develop reactor fuel using uranium enrichment for peaceful purposes.

Hasan Qashqavi, Spokesman of Iranian Foreign Ministry, said, "It is clear that Iran does not have any nuclear weapons. No country has ever claimed that. No one has ever said that Iran holds nuclear weapons. Everybody knows that Iran has always been in favor of the non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and views this as a strategy to change the world. The biggest change in the world will be realized if we have a world and a Middle East which is free from weapons of mass destruction."
