The Chairman of the mainland's Association for Relations Across the Straits, Chen Yunlin, as well as the Chairman of the Taiwan-based Straits Exchange Foundation, Chiang Pin-kung, signed the deals at a ceremony held in Taipei on Tuesday afternoon.

One of the deals is expected to increase the number of weekly passenger flights between the mainland and Taiwan from 36 to over 100.

Also at the ceremony, both sides exchanged gifts. Shaped like a handshake, it also symbolizes peace and cooperation.

Chen Yunlin arrived in Taiwan for a historic five-day visit on Monday. He held talks with Chiang Pin-kung on Tuesday morning. It is the first-ever meeting held in Taiwan between heads of the two organizations.
