During the visit, Chen will meet with Taiwan's Straits Exchange Foundation (SEF) chairman Chiang Pin-kung. The visit will focus on economic issues, Chen told reporters earlier.

Chen's Taiwan visit will be the second meeting between the leaders of the ARATS and SEF in the past 10 years. The first, attended by Chiang Pin-kung, was held in Beijing in June. Before that, the meeting between leaders of the two organizations had been suspended for a decade.
