WASHINGTON, Oct. 24 (Xinhua) -- U.S. President George W. Bush and his wife as well as Vice President Dick Cheney have cast their votes for their party's presidential candidate John McCain, the White House said on Friday.

"Today the president and Mrs. Bush cast their ballots for the 2008 election during the early voting process. The ballots will be mailed back to Texas today," said spokeswoman Dana Perino in a statement.

She also said that Bush and his wife plan to be at the White House on election night.

"For months the president has said he supports John McCain for president and of course he voted for him," she added.

Cheney's press secretary told reporters on Friday that the vice president also voted for McCain and mailed his absentee ballot to his home state of Wyoming on Oct. 8.

Despite a number of voters that have cast their absentee ballots for the next president, most Americans are expected to vote on Nov. 4, the election day.
