Chinese, Denish PMs hold talks in Beijing

BEIJING, Oct. 22 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao Wednesday held talks with Denish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen who is here for a six-day official visit to China and for the seventh summit of the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) scheduled for Oct. 24-25.

Wen said he had learned Rasmussen's speech in Shanghai about the bilateral cooperation, which expressed Denmark's great willingness to develop friendly cooperation with China. He would like to conduct in-depth study with Rasmussen on his suggestions.

He also believed that Rasmussen's visit will further promote the Sino-Denish friendly and cooperative relations.

Rasmussen said his first China visit as Denmark's prime minister in 2004 was an unforgettable experience. After that visit, Denmark's government established a new global strategy, an important aspect of which was to deepen cooperation with China.

He said it was the third time he met with Premier Wen Jiabao and they had established good personal relations, which also symbolized the sound relationship between the two countries.

Rasmussen arrived in Shanghai on Monday, starting his official visit to China.

During his visit in Shanghai, Rasmussen said Denmark hoped to enhance economic and technological cooperation with China and to deepen the friendship of the two peoples through tourism, culture and student exchanges.
