In his meeting with Danish Prime Minister Anders Rasmussen, Hu Jintao said that China and Denmark have enjoyed a long history of friendly exchange. The president expressed hope that the two countries would seize opportunities to promote bilateral ties to a new level.

On the issue of climate change, Hu Jintao said the Chinese government attaches great importance to dealing with the issue and promoting sustainable development. He said China plans to take part in the upcoming meeting in Copenhagen on the UN's Framework Treaty on Climate Change.

Rasmussen said he hoped Denmark and China could continue expanding cooperation on energy and environmental protection, and enhance exchanges between Asia and Europe.

Hu Jintao also met with Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung. The president said China is willing to work with Vietnam to promote an overall strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries.

The two leaders agreed to solve any border issues through consultation.
