Kim did not give specific details, but later explained that South Korea has been seeking to expand inter-Korean economic and humanitarian aid in tandem with progress on the nuclear issue.

He also said more than 3 thousand tons of steel will be delivered to the DPRK at the end of this month.

The six-party talks are reported to resume around the time of the EU-Asia Summit later this month.

Analysts say the removal of the DPRK from Washington's terrorism blacklist has allowed talks on the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula to return to normal.
