The second of three presidential debates comes just four weeks before the November 4th election.

It offers Republican McCain one of his last best chances to halt Democrat Obama's recent surge in the increasingly vitriolic race.

The debate will include questions on both domestic and foreign policy raised by audience members at Nashville's Belmont University, and from voters on the Internet.

In addition to growing concern about the state of America's finances, the candidates are also likely to go after each other on character issues.

McCain and his running mate Alaska Governor Sarah Palin have forcefully re-injected those issues into the campaign since the weekend.
