They claim Cambodian troops opened fire on Thai paramilitary rangers, leading to two injuries on Friday.
Thai Foreign Ministry Permanent Secretary Virasakdi Futrakul made the protest to Cambodia's charge d'affairs in Bangkok on Saturday.
The protest was a response to Cambodia's similar protest to the Thai embassy in Phnom Penh earlier Saturday, blaming Thailand for Friday's border clash.
Chea Dara, Cambodian General, said, "The Thai side did not respect the order, they pulledback about 50 to 70 meters and then they started to fire at us here using an M-79."
Both sides claim their soldiers acted in self-defense, accusing the other side of intruding into their territory.
Thailand and Cambodia have been engaged in a diplomatic and military stand-off since July along the disputed border near Preah Vihear. Thailand was upset this summer after Cambodia received UNESCO
World Heritage status for an ancient temple they believe rightfully belongs to them.(OUT)
