President Hu meets space scientists

China is taking great satisfaction from the progress of its Shenzhou 7 manned space mission. President Hu Jintao has met scientists working at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in Gansu Province.

President Hu Jintao has met scientists working at the Jiuquan  Satellite Launch Center in Gansu Province.

Hu Jintao congratulated the scientists and all staff involved in the Shenzhou 7 mission.

The president said he was happy to hear everything is going well.

Chinese president Hu Jintao said, "Last night, the Shenzhou 7 spacecraft was successfully launched and entered its preset orbit. Now the spacecraft is flying as scheduled. It was my great pleasure to witness the exciting historic moment with you in the launch center. Here on behalf of the CPC Central Committe, the State Council and the Central Military Commission, I would like to extend our sincere greetings and gratitude to all of you."
