President Hu Jintao meets foreign leaders for closing ceremony of Paralympics

President Hu Jintao has welcomed three foreign leaders at the Great Hall of the People. They include the president of Guinea-Bissau, Joao Bernardo Vieira, Bangladesh's interim caretaker Prime Minister Fakhruddin Ahmed, and Niger's prime minister Seine Oumarou.

Hu Jintao stressed that reinforcing and developing friendly cooperation with African countries like Guinea-Bissau is China's long-term strategy. Vieira repeated support for China's stance on the Taiwan and Tibet issues.

Hu Jintao thanked Fakhruddin for Bangladesh's support for the Beijing Olympics and Paralympics. Fakhruddin said his country is willing to enhance cooperation with China in trade, investment and transportation.

President Hu told Niger's Prime Minister Seine Oumarou their two countries should enhance personnel exchanges and trade and economic cooperation. Oumarou said Niger hopes for more poverty-reduction help from China.
