Chinese athletes vow to perform well in Paralympics

The Chinese delegation to the Beijing Paralympic Games gathered in the athlete's village on Saturday and vowed to give good performances in the upcoming games.

Chinese Vice Premier Hui Liangyu, Deng Pufang, the Executive President of Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad, and Wang Xinxian, head of the Chinese Paralympics delegation, attended the meeting.

A total of 547 representatives will be part of the Chinese delegation, including 332 athletes who will compete in all 20 events. The competitive team will be comprised of 197 men and 135 women -- the largest one in China's history.
