Demonstrators continue protests in Thailand

Thousands of Thai protesters have begun a second day occupying Government House -- the prime minister's compound in Bangkok. Meanwhile, riot police continue to confront anti-government protesters trying to unseat the elected seven-month-old coalition government.

The protestors' grip appeared uncertain, however, when about 500 riot police cleared away makeshift barricades and forced open a gate to enter the prime minister's compound shortly after 3:00 am on Wednesday.

Officers clashed briefly with the protesters. No immediate efforts were made to force the protesters out. Meanwhile, tens of thousands rallied outside.

On Tuesday, thousands of protesters also entered state broadcaster NBT and three government ministries, as well as the Bangkok police headquarters. Thai Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej says he will prepare legal action against anyone breaking the law.
