The 13th Paralympic Games will begin on September 6th. Just 4 days after the Olympics end, the Paralympic flame will be lit by the sun at the Temple of Heaven on Thursday, marking the start of its relay.

The lighting of the Paralympic flame at the Temple of Heaven is meant to symbolize the connection between heaven and man. This is a core concept in traditional Chinese culture,embodying the Chinese people’s pursuit of harmony between man and nature.
From August 29th to September 6th,the nine-day long Beijing Paralympic torch relay will be conducted simultaneously along two routes — Ancient China and Modern China.
