China has two new unofficial Olympic mascots. They are giant panda twins born on the second day of the 2008 Beijing Games.

The twins were born to 9-year-old 'Qi Zhen', who gave birth after a pregnancy extending over 100 days. The birth took place at the Giant Panda Breeding Research Base, near Chengdu, in Sichuan province.

The panda experts say they hope the birth of the two male cubs will bring luck to China's Olympic team. The monther is currently keep one of the twin with her.

As a special gesture to the Olympics, the twins have been named 'Bei Bei' and 'Huan Huan.' Those are names of two of the five official Olympic mascots - the Fuwa.
