Reconstruction is in full swing in Sichuan, as the southwestern province recovers from the 8.0 magnitude earthquake in May.

The government relief fund has reached 55 billion yuan or about 8 billion US dollars. Domestic and foreign donations total 56 billion yuan in cash and goods, 20 billion of which has been forwarded to the quake zone.
As of Monday, relief workers had built more than 439,000 temporary houses and were setting up another 22,000. Local governments say all the homeless survivors will move into temporary houses by August the 1st.
