The 1200 kilometer pipeline runs from Lanzhou to Chongqing, and comes as close as 90 kilometers away from the quake epicenter. It provides over seventy percent of the refined oil in Sichuan province and Chongqing municipality, and has gone a long way toward meeting the oil demand for relief and reconstruction work there, after the transportation network broke down.

The oil supply has now returned to normal level, and a rich oil reserve has been guaranteed for the reconstruction work.
