As rainstorms move south, floods in Guangxi have started to slowly retreat. But some low-lying parts of the region are still half submerged.

We're at Da Likou, a suburban area of Wuzhou City. As you can see, this is the farthest place our vehicles could get to. And on the other side, the flooded area used to be roads to Guilin. The villagers told me the only transportation available now are little boats. They told me that water level was two meters higher than this. We can still see traces of the floods on this mountain. The soil is still wet.”

Da Likou is only seven kilometers away from Wuzhou, but the situation here is very different. The village is located on a much lower ground and the soil is over-soaked. This has made the flood move away very slowly. And boats have become much useful than cars.

It took the man an hour to get his grain and wood-dust. He travels more than ten times a day on th water to get everything he needs to raise his cattle.
