MADRID, June 12 (Xinhua) -- Spain and Mexico signed an agreement on the management of migratory labor Thursday.

The agreement was "an extraordinary example of understanding" between the two governments, visiting Mexican President Felipe Calderon told a joint press conference with Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero.

Calderon said the deal allows Spanish companies to hire Mexican workers and thus allows the establishment of a mechanism to complement Spanish work force with Mexican professionals.

The two sides also signed a document to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the Mexican Independence (from Spain) and the 100thanniversary of the Mexican Revolution.

Meanwhile, representatives from government institutions of the two countries also signed a deal to promote bilateral trade and investment.

The Mexican president arrived here Wednesday for his second state visit to Spain and received a warm welcome by the Spanish King Juan Carlos in the El Pardo Palace.

He will travel to Spain's northern city of Zaragoza on Friday for the opening of the International Expo 2008 and to Barcelona on Saturday.
