The International Football Arena has launched the "IFA Sichuan Children Relief Fund" at a meeting in Beijing.

Football administrators and the presidents of leagues and national bodies, such as the Chinese Football Association, and the Asian Football Confederation and English premier League, are involved in the project. The meeting also observed a one minute silence to pay tribute to the victims of the earthquake.

The Fund will build a number of football pitches in the worst quake-affected areas. The English Premier League chief Executive Richard Scudamore and Asian Football Confederation president Mohamed Bin Hamman were also among those who launched the fund.

Peter Hargitay, special advisor of AFC, said, "The whole world will support China...."
