The exhibition introduces Tibetan history over different periods of time. For many, it's their first in-depth introduction.

Li Bin, Student of Luhe Middle School, Beijing, said, "My knowledge about Tibet all comes from the text book, but that's not enough. Today's exhibition helps me better understand Tibetan history."

Li Zhi, student of Public Security University, said, "I saw many historical documents. All prove that Tibet has been part of China for centuries."

Many visitors are tourists and for some, it's a welcome part of their trip to the nation's capital.

Tourist from Shanxi, said, "I hope the exhibition can be held in other provinces so that many people could understand more about Tibet, particularly young people."

"Tibet, Past and Present" is open to the public free of charge through July the 25th.
